These Board of Directors that has been assembled to represent the face of CHANGE comes from multiple backgrounds and have various expertise. Most importantly they all have the passion to serve the Hmong community by creating a better future through preserving the language and culture of the Hmong community.

History of Hmong Language

Since the 1700s, Hmong language has been lost due to war and exile, where the Hmong people had to fled their homelands and travel south to neighboring countries like Laos, Vietnam and Thailand for their safety.

Since the disperse after the war, Hmong have been speaking multiple languages in combination with their native language. And since then, there is no strong foundation to support the language and cultural development.

This is where CHANGE had decided to take on a mission to

help the Hmong community around the world to learn their language & reclaim their identity starting with Minnesota as the center.

Our mission

Our mission is to empower the Hmong community by providing educational opportunities that foster a deeper understanding of Hmong culture and identity across all generations.

We are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive

space where community members can access resources

for youth engagement, mental health, parent-child communication, and workforce readiness.

Through these efforts, we aim to help Hmong individuals overcome life challenges, strengthen their cultural connections, and make meaningful contributions to both

the Hmong community and the state of Minnesota.
